Harriet is a Yorkshire-born artist currently based in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, where she lives with her family and her dog. Her art reflects her view of the world: it is bold, bright, and full of striking emotion. Having struggled with her health as both a teenager and a young woman, she uses her art to make sense of her place in the world, leading to her paintings often having a sense of urgency or restlessness. Her piece 'Aura' depicts her struggles with chronic migraine pain and is emblematic of her artistic ethos: bright yellows, blues, and oranges contrast with a deep blue-black background. Her love for mixed-media and textured art is clear in the beadwork embroidered into the migraine aura itself, the beads representing how the pain manifests as numbness and pinpricks in her face.​​​

Her most recent series, 'The Highlands in Colour', takes a bold approach to the rugged landscapes and sturdy animals of the place she has made her home. Inspired by the bright blooms of her garden and the lively spirits of the fauna, with bold strokes of oil paint over paper collages and funky texture, she has brought them to life in a mixed-media project.
